Cheng Hoe belum pasti hala tuju

Tan Cheng Hoe berkata dia masih belum pasti mengenai masa depan kariernya bersama Kedah walaupun mencipta sejarah selepas membimbing Lang Merah muncul juara Piala Malaysia untuk kali kelima malam tadi.

Kemenangan Kedah ke atas juara 33 kali Selangor, menerusi penalti penentuan 6-5 dalam perlawanan akhir di Stadium Shah Alam selepas terikat 1-1 dalam masa tambahan, mencipta sejarah tersendiri kepada Cheng Hoe yang menjulang trofi kemegahan itu untuk kali kedua.

Bagaimanpun, Cheng Hoe mengakui dia tidak tahu mengenai masa depannya sama ada terus kekal bersama Kedah atau sebaliknya kerana kontraknya bakal tamat pada hujung tahun ini dan masih belum dibincangkan dengan Persatuan Bola Sepak Kedah (KFA).

Jurulatih itu bagaimanapun berterus terang hatinya masih mahu kekal bersama Lang Merah yang menurutnya memiliki pemain muda dan senior yang berbakat dan bersemangat tinggi.

“Tahniah kepada pemain ke­rana memberi persembahan dan komitmen yang cukup tinggi. Kami tahu bukan senang beraksi di Shah Alam namun pemain te­lah berjuang dengan begitu bersemangat dan bermain sebagai satu pasukan. Paling penting mereka yakin dengan keupayaan sendiri.

“Kejayaan ini amat menakjubkan untuk saya sebab pada 1990 saya membantu Kedah menjuarai Piala Malaysia buat pertama kali dan sekali lagi memenangi trofi kejohanan pada edisi ke-90.

“Harapan saya ingin terus kekal bersama Kedah untuk dua atau tiga tahun lagi sebab kita tahu perjalanan pasukan pada musim ini begitu baik. Adunan pemain begitu baik dalam kalangan senior dan junior,” katanya selepas perlawanan.

Sementara itu, kapten Kedah, Baddrol Bakhtiar berkata selepas berjaya merangkul Piala Malaysia dia mensasarkan untuk menjuarai Piala AFF apabila kejohanan itu bakal berlangsung pada November ini.

“Semasa mengambil sepakan penalti saya terbayangkan di Stadium Bung Karno ketika beraksi bersama skuad negara dalam Sukan SEA 2011. Saya mengharapkan keajaiban dan malam ini (semalam) terjadi.
